Tainted Hoops and PacMania

FedEx GM Lito Alvarez said that he will recommend the disbandment of the Philippine team until such time that the Basketball crisis is resolved. He argued that the PBA is bankrolling hefty expenses for the National team without having the assurance of playing in any FIBA-sponsored tournament.

This is a prime example of those greedy scads that could care less for the glory of Philippine Basketball. Lito Alvarez is no sportsman— from their lousy 12-player rotation principle for the team to the dim-witted trades of their blue chip rookies (for underachievers at that) — this guy has no sense of basketball in his persona.

If the PBA board is influenced by this sanctimonious retard in their upcoming meet, then pro hoops will be no different from those cash-cow agencies that promote self interest above all else.

Soccer anyone?

In the lighter side of things: Filipino banger Manny PacMan Pacquiao will have WWE superstar Undertaker in his ring entourage as a promotional gimmick for his
upcoming match with Mexican foe Hector Velasquez. Also, Apl_d_Ap of Black Eyed Peas has personally composed a new song for the Pacman entitled The Champion. This will be his entrance music as he steps into the squared circle.

The Pacman fever has definitely reached mainstream as he was also invited to throw the ceremonial pitch for Game 3 of the Major League series between the Oakland and LA. Hollywood celebrities and politicians like George W. Bush have preceded Pacquiao and this shows how popular he has become in the US.

Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!
